Cloud Computing

What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud computing is an internet-based on-demand technology that provides us with various services, such as, data storage, servers, database applications, and networks. This technology also enables us to save our files in a central location, rather than using a locally accessible one.

With the usage of cloud technology, we get to save our resources on an internet server, which helps us to access them anytime and anywhere, even remotely. The security and safety of the cloud computing tech is also much better than that of a local hard disk on one’s computer.

How does this technology function?

The model, describing the functioning of the cloud technology is based on two layers, namely, the Front End and the Back End.

A. The Front End is composed of the client system, consisting of its own interface. It consists of the resources that are essential for usage purposes by the client and receives them via the Internet.

B. The Back End is responsible for acting upon the cloud performance with assistance from a specific server and data storage system

Types of Cloud Computing There are three major models of cloud computing; public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud.

1. Public cloud: These systems are run and owned by third-party cloud service providers, that are responsible for the provision of services and resources, such as storage over the Internet. In this type, all the hardware and software are managed by the provider and can be accessed with the help of a web browser.

2. Private cloud: This category of cloud computing system is mostly used by business organizations and are located on the on-site data center of such associations. The services and infrastructure in this scenario are maintained on a privately owned network.

3. Hybrid cloud: As the name suggests, a hybrid cloud network combines the public and private clouds by technology, which is used to share data and applications. This system is more flexible in comparison to the aforementioned systems and optimizes the infrastructure and security system better.

Uses of Cloud Computing Cloud computing has multiple uses, some of which are listed below:

● Easy storage, backup, and recovery of data.

● Streaming audio and video hassle-free.

● Analyzing data comprehensively.

● Flexible software delivery according to the user’s demands.

● Testing and building application prototypes.

Advantages This system is also more advantageous in comparison to the traditional methods of usage of IT resources. Advantages of using this system include:

Cloud computing is a cost-effective and cost-efficient system, as it eliminates the cost of buying hardware and software resources.

It is a very high speed system, which means that companies get a lot of flexibility due to the provision of on-demand self-service.

It is reliable, as the data can be mirrored redundantly on the network of one’s cloud provider.

The secure system makes it a preferable choice, as we are offered with a wide range of policies and technologies that protect our data from credible threats.

It offers smooth performance runs.
